Brazilian international Thiago Silva has reportedly held preliminary talks with Fluminensein his native Brazil. The news of initial talks between the Chelsea defender and Fluminense was revealed via a report from Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb.


Thiago Silva is in the final year of his two-year deal at Stamford Bridge and the Brazil national team centre back is already making plans on his next career move. At the age of 37, Thiago Silva is in the final years of his career and a move back to Brazil to play for his boyhood club seems to be on the horizon for him. The aforementioned report disclosed that Fluminense contacted the Chelsea player and that initial talks have already taken place between both parties. Talks between the two parties are said to be at the initial stage at the moment.

Experienced defender Thiago Silva left French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) at the end of his contract last summer and he went on to sign for West London giants Chelsea on a free transfer. Thiago Silva penned a one-year deal when he signed for the Blues with the option of another year. Chelsea took up the extra year option at the end of last season to take his contract at the club until next year.
Chelsea are unlikely to extend his deal when it expires next summer thus paving the way for him to join Fluminense in the Brazilian league.
The signing of Thiago Silva had been a success at Chelsea after he played a big part in the Champions League triumph from last season. The Brazilian was at the heart of the defence that led the Blues to their second Champions League win last season thanks to the slim victory over Premier League holders Manchester City in the final of the competition.
