The Brazilian national football team is a side that is always being wrapped up with news and rumors involving their players and one of the latest ones that has been spreading around is Daniel Alves and his importance in the Brazilian team.
The defender of Barcelona, Daniel Alves was not featured in Brazil’s 2014 World Cup matches against: Netherlands and Germany as well as not being called by Dunga for some of their latest friendly encounters with Colombia and Ecuador which was played a few days ago.
Brazil has to face off with Argentina and Japan on friendly matches which are scheduled to be played on October 11 and 14 respectively. The coach of Brazil, Dunga has already the named the squad of players that will be performing for these matches and Daniel Alves was not called out.
The full list of players that was named by Dunga was:
Goalkeepers: Jefferson (Botafogo), Rafael (Napoli)
Defenders: Mario Fernandes (CSKA Moscow), Dodo (Inter Milan), Danilo (Porto), Filipe Luis (Chelsea), David Luiz (Paris Saint-Germain), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Gil (Corinthians), Miranda (Atletico Madrid)
Midfielders: Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg), Elias (Corinthians), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Ramires (Chelsea), Willian (Chelsea), Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool), Oscar (Chelsea), Ricardo Goulart (Cruzeiro)
Forwards: Everton Ribeiro (Cruzeiro), Robinho (Santos), Neymar (Barcelona), Diego Tardelli (Atletico Mineiro)
Robinho was surprisingly called up as he is a player that has not been featured in many recent important matches for Brazil but it seems like Dunga wants to give the former Ac.Milan a second chance for him prove his worth for Brazil in the last few years of his career as he already is 30 years old and is not expected to continue playing at a high professional competitive level for much longer. However, even with Robinho’s inclusion in the squad of Brazil he is only expected to play a substitute role in the team for their upcoming friendly matches.
